Goth clubs are sincerely hilarious places. I've been to this one a few times, and it's always a riot. You should see the people who go. Flashing lights target select portions of the floor and give you unsustained images that seem frozen between the darkness. I like to dance to the beat of music that is not contemporary r&b once in a while. I like to look at these people and wonder what they do in their daily lives. Do they wear cat suits or leather corsets to work or school? Full body fishnet outfits and cherry red eyeshadow? Or do they keep this life a secret and fool their coworkers with beige pantsuits? My favorite part of the entire thing is that no one even dances together. Each person dances within a concrete bubble, closing their eyes and saying goodbye to stress. Waving their arms in fluid motions and twisting their hips to the beat of
Don't You Want Me by Human League, praising the condensed air with their flailing limbs. I love this.
These are my parental units. It was my uncle's 40th birthday last weekend, so the theme was 1970's. Are they a couple o' kids or what? Do you think I look like them? I've received mixed comments. People always say I look like my dad, especially because my mother has pale skin and hair. But occasionally I'll get the "mother's eyes" or "mother's smile" comment. My dad is, indeed, grabbing his crotch in this photo. My mum kept slapping it away. Just so all of you know.
And this is a sandwich I ate recently. Simple, yet scrumptious. I have this dire need to take pictures of food I'm about to eat. It's like I'm giving it a permanent place in history before I nom it right up. I know I make a lot of allusions to myself killing things, but this kind of photography is similar to a serial killer keepsake.

I want to make your parental units the most awesome sandwich in existence.
In fact, I want to make them a lifetime supply.
For creating you, obvs.
I've been to S & M clubs, but nary a goth club. I'd like to go with you and attempt to dance with people inside of their bubbles. Stir things up. At the goth club.
THAT looks like a mighty damn good sandwich... The bread looks like something out of an Amish bakery. I must find some!
And speaking of the 70's: LOVE the china pattern on the plates. My family had the exact same pattern when I was growing up. I always thought the little flowers were the aliens off of that Atari game. (i dont remember the name at the moment..) We had soup bowls, serving bowls, tea cups and platters to match. I always thought our dishes were so unique and special....then after getting older and started having dinner over at friend's houses I came to realize that EVERYONE had that pattern. My mind was blown.
I inherited those when I moved away from home, and in fact, I at this moment have a sandwich (which looks really weak compared to yours!) sitting on said plate, right here at my desk. Ah, childhood memories with every meal.
Goth club? Wow. I think it'll be nice to people watch there. Although i might never understand the music but i'll drink enough to enjoy it a little :p
The picture of your parents is awesome, by the way. I suspect mine were dressed like that back in the 70's.
I'm far too antisocial (agoraphobic?) to ever experience a goth club. but good for you.
Now thats my kind of dancing.
There are Goth clubs? I need to experience this. And I think you look more like your Mom.
I love the picture of your parents!!! Love the post dear!

You'd assume they have goth clubs, and goth in general, in NYC with all the black we were but nay, haven't seen any of either.
Your parents are super rad!
Wow. I'm a failure at 5:30 a.m.
